This is a piece I like to call "Goooooo No. 2." This is my second try at making my own art paper out of my old scraps and such. I saw this in the magazine "Cloth, Paper, Scissors" and have been chomping at the bit to try it....specifically because I don't throw paper scraps away, and I love to scrapbook, and I don't want to show up on the news because I died unable to exit my own house due to the storage of enormous excess scrap paper. So I really am working to MAKE something from it and enjoy that product as well as the process too! This requires a specialty adhesive called PPA...."Perfect Paper Adhesive." Layers of wet paper, torn, slathered in adhesive, and then allowed to dry. My first try followed the directions suggesting that I can do this on a silicon or teflon mat, and my cutting mat has silicon in it....but is likely not only made of silicon. Sooo, Goooo No. 1 is permanently affixed to the back side of my cutting mat. Too bad, so sad, moving on. This time, parchment paper was utilized and I have a sneaking suspicion that this might work. How do I know?
That is right! The corners are coming up on their own. So perhaps tomorrow, it will come all the way off. We shall see, right? Only patience will tell, or impatience will ruin with its dastardly interruptions!
Come on "Goooo No. 2!"
I just know you will come through!
PLEASE, don't make me blue!
I used Perfect Paper Adhesive, not ELMER'S GLUE!
Okay, now onto real news. I am STILL knitting that silly same project, behind the scenes of all the other marvelous crafts that grace the center stage on this blog. So it deserves some props as it is really coming along! Don't let the glue and paper fool you! Knitting has the real credit for sucking up my time!
Feast your eyes upon nearly 24 inches of project!
